The same front elevation after renovation, with charcoal siding, cedar accent and a rebuilt entry

Project case study

A dated two-storey, rebuilt outside

New siding throughout, cedar accent walls, a rebuilt front entry with stonework, a full-width raised deck, and a detached garage resided to match.

About this renovation

This was a full exterior renovation of an existing two-storey home. The structure and the footprint stayed. Everything the weather touches was replaced or rebuilt.

Exterior work is the kind of renovation where the difference shows immediately, but it is also the kind where the substrate decides the schedule. Investigating before quoting, and carrying a realistic allowance for what is found once the old cladding comes off, is how we price renovation work generally.

The house remained lived in throughout, which is the normal case rather than the exception. Site tidiness at the end of each day matters more, not less, when someone is coming home to it.
